HOW TO PREPARE
Day Before Your Session
● 24 hours before - it is best to shower and gently exfoliate your whole body using an exfoliating glove or washcloth before your appointment. Make certain to use a non-oil based body wash such as Aveeno, Cetaohil or Native. Never exfoliate 1-3 hours or minutes before your tanning session because it will affect the application of it and the end results.
● Shaving should be done using a clean razor (non moisture strip) 1 day before your tanning session, same goes with waxing. This timeline will allow the hair follicles & pores to close back up before getting your tan. By not following these instructions it can result in uneven color development leaving streaks or tiny brown dots from open pores.
● Avoid wearing moisturizers, make-up, or deodorant to your appointment, as they act as a barrier to the solution and may stop the color from developing properly.
● Tanning should always be the last beauty treatment in advance of your big day. Manicures, pedicures, hair appointments, massages and waxing should be completed 24 hours before your session - not the day of your tanning session.
HOW TO PREPARE
The Day of Your Session
● If you booked a mobile session - I will arrive on time to your appointment at the location you’ve provided. Please secure a clear space near an outlet (with ample lighting!) for me to set up. I bring everything needed for your mobile appointment.
● If you booked a studio session - arrive on time at 201 W Fifth Street, Mineral VA 23117, park anywhere in the driveway come on in and make your way inside. I will have everything set up and ready for you!
● Wear dark colored, loose fitting clothing and flip flops to your appointment. No Jeans or Leggings or anything with elastic as this will leave marks and cause friction which will result in marks and streaks to your tan. Cotton is best, silk or satin clothing tends to cause perspiration.
● Bring an umbrella if rain is in the forecast - you need to stay covered and dry!
● May also want to bring a towel for your car seat• Protect your vehicle interior if running errands. Use a towel to cover leather or light colored seats.
● It’s important to not apply any lotions, oils, deodorants, perfumes, or makeup the day of your tan. These can create a barrier on the skin that will prevent your tan from looking flawless!
● It’s fine if you want to do a cool or lukewarm rinse 3 or more hours before your session. This is to remove any sweat, lotions, deodorant, makeup.
HOW TO PREPARE
After Your Session
● Do not sweat or get wet until your initial rinse! You will be advised on the best time to rinse. If you accidentally spill water or have a pet lick you - buff out the area in circular motions with a fluffy blending brush.
● Any bronzer that may have transferred to clothing, sheets, or towels will wash out.
● During your rinse use lukewarm water and no soap. Your bronzer will come off and run down the drain - that’s totally normal! After your shower, pat yourself dry with a towel, do not rub. Rubbing yourself dry with a towel can cause your tan to streak.
● Wait until your color is fully developed to moisturize! Best practice is to use a moisturizer free of artificial fragrances or mineral oils as these can strip your tan quickly and can cause your tan to be blotchy. Aveeno, Cetaphil, or Hemps are good lotions to use that have no mineral oils. Moisturizing is vital to maintaining your tan! Applying lotion daily will prolong the life of your tan and ensures an even, flawless fade. ● Avoid any activity that may cause you to sweat excessively. No working out until after that first rinse.
● If you are tanning prior to a vacation, please be aware that salt water and chlorine may affect the longevity of your tan.
