How to Prepare & Maintain Your Glow
HOW TO PREPARE - The Day Before Your Session
● 24 hours before your appointment, shower and gently exfoliate your entire body using an exfoliating glove or washcloth. Use a non-oil-based body wash such as Aveeno, Cetaphil, or Native. Avoid exfoliating immediately before your appointment, as this can affect the application and final results of your tan.
● Shaving and waxing should be completed at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please use a clean razor without a moisture strip when shaving. This allows pores and hair follicles time to close, helping ensure smooth and even color development.
● Arrive to your appointment with clean, dry skin free of lotions, oils, makeup, deodorant, or perfumes, as these products can create a barrier and interfere with the development of your spray tan.
● Spray tanning should be your final beauty appointment before an event or vacation. Manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, hair appointments, and waxing should all be completed at least 24 hours before your tanning session.
HOW TO PREPARE - The Day of Your Session
● Mobile Appointments: I will arrive at the location provided at your scheduled appointment time. Please have a clear space available near an outlet with good lighting for setup. I will bring everything needed for your mobile spray tan experience.
● Studio Appointments: Please arrive on time to the studio. Parking is available in the driveway — simply come on in! Everything will be set up and ready for your appointment.
● Wear loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing and flip flops or open-toed shoes to your appointment. Avoid jeans, leggings, bras, or tight elastic clothing, as these can create friction, marks, or uneven areas on your tan. Cotton clothing is recommended, while silk or satin fabrics may cause perspiration.
● If rain is in the forecast, please bring an umbrella to help keep your skin dry and protected after your appointment.
● If you plan to run errands afterward, consider bringing a towel to place over light-colored or leather car seats.
● The day of your appointment, avoid applying lotions, oils, deodorant, perfume, or makeup, as these products can create a barrier on the skin and affect the final results of your tan.
● If needed, it is perfectly fine to do a cool or lukewarm rinse several hours before your appointment to remove sweat, deodorant, makeup, or skincare products before your session.
HOW TO PREPARE - After Your Session
● Avoid sweating or getting wet until your first rinse. You will be advised on the recommended rinse time based on your customized solution. If you accidentally get a small area wet or smudged, gently buff the area in circular motions with a soft makeup or blending brush.
● Any cosmetic bronzer that transfers to clothing, towels, or sheets is water-soluble and should wash out normally.
● For your first rinse, use lukewarm water only — no soap, body wash, or scrubbing. You will notice the cosmetic bronzer rinsing away, which is completely normal. After rinsing, gently pat your skin dry with a towel rather than rubbing to help maintain an even result.
● Wait until your tan has fully developed before applying moisturizer. Daily moisturizing is one of the most important steps in extending the life of your spray tan and promoting an even fade. For best results, use a moisturizer free of mineral oils and heavy artificial fragrances. Aveeno, Cetaphil, and Hempz are all great options.
● Avoid workouts, excessive sweating, saunas, or hot tubs until after your first rinse.
● If you are tanning before a vacation, please keep in mind that chlorine, salt water, long hot showers, and excessive exfoliation may cause your tan to fade more quickly.
